The MRPF-100 Remote Fault Passage Monitor has been developed to detect MV and HV fault passage and send this information in real time to the Network Control Room.

The MRPF-100 monitors the three phase currents separately, which results in a precise fault detection, overcoming the limitations and inaccuracies of other existing fault passage indicators that only monitor the resultant of the three phase currents.

This low cost innovative system is easily installed and detects phase to neutral, phase to phase and three phase faults, with non-isolated neutral networks.

The MRPF-100 detects fault direction while discriminating capacitive (return) currents. This is of great utility due to the increasing number of distributed generation elements in the networks.

Fault indication is monitored sending SMS messages to the Control Room.

The MRPF-100 system is made of the following devices:

The CC is based on low consumption electronics and powered by a battery and a solar panel.

Each CSD is self-powered by means of a transformer which feeds from the current going through the cable. Thus, since no batteries are needed, the CSD's are maintenance-free.
